Important: this event is not just about playing more runs. The real goal is to finish your gear upgrades quickly in treasure stages and improve your score efficiency.

Main idea: focus on gear upgrades first, then move back to normal stages and target only the most efficient catches to raise your total score more consistently.

The event has 5 pages: Fishing Championship, Fishing Club, Fishing Master Ranking, Fishing Expert Set, and Collection.

Main Gameplay

The actual fishing gameplay takes place on the Fishing Championship page.

Maximum Gear Level

Fishing Line, Hook, and Sinker all have a max level of 10.

Stage Types

The event is split into Normal Stages and Treasure Stages, with Treasure Stages being the main source of high scores.

Treasure Stage: this is a special stage entered with the Sea Treasure Map item. You begin with max-level gear, which makes it the best place for fast upgrades and high-score runs.

Core Ranking Strategy

Key Point: if you want to rank, the single most important thing is when and on which fish you use the Tide Horn.

Early Phase - Gear Upgrade Stage

Start with all buffs active, including Reel, Deep Sea Sensor, and Lamp.
Catch every 5-star and 4-star fish you can, then fill the rest with as many 3-star fish as possible.
Aim for around 1,150 to 1,200 points per run.
Use your points to upgrade the Fishing Line first.
Once your Fishing Line level rises, repeat the flow of using Tide Horn on the current season’s 5-star fish about 3 to 4 times until your basic gear upgrades are done.

Tip for experienced players

Once you get used to identifying fish, using only the Lamp can still be very efficient.

If you want to save resources, you do not need to use the Reel and Deep Sea Sensor on every run.

Main Scoring Phase - After Gear Upgrades

After finishing your upgrades in Treasure Stages, shift your focus to score management in Normal Stages.
On the way back up, targets like sea urchins, mussels, and crayfish are worth grabbing for their 20-point value.
Once you have caught 1-star items like the Broken Sword or Ship Rudder, it is best to avoid them afterward.

Controls and Detailed Tips

550m Descent Control

Use the pause and exit buttons at the top right to practice minimizing shield loss to 2 or less during the descent.

Fishing Coupon

If you get a Fishing Coupon, use it right away. The 1.5x score boost makes a huge difference.

How to Identify Fish Rarity

5-star fish: brilliant golden aura
4-star fish: silver or soft blue aura
3-star fish: light bronze or brown aura

Must-Know Avoidance and Control Tips

The climb back up is much more important than the descent.
Small fish slow down heavily when they hit walls, so do not stay glued to the wall.
Piranhas should be avoided on the way down, but on the way up you can sometimes let them bite you on purpose for 40 points.
The tail end of a fish may not count as a catch and can only drain your shield, so be careful.
Do not rely only on wall-hugging. Learning precise movement and clean avoidance is what really improves your score.

Treasure Stage Score Goal: if you use Tide Horn, Reel, Deep Sea Sensor, and Lamp together, you should aim for at least 1,200 points. With full buffs, 2 five-star fish, 1 to 2 four-star fish, and the rest filled with 3-star catches, scores around 1,800 to 1,900 are possible.

Q&A - Is Restarting Fine After a Mistake?

Q. If I collide too much and fail to reach the bottom, is it okay to press restart?

A. Yes. In many cases, restarting is actually the better option for score management.

When you restart, the high-value fish and treasure chests that appeared before will show up again in the same positions. If your descent goes badly, do not hesitate to restart and aim for a cleaner run.

Exception: the Mermaid changes position and may or may not appear after each restart. You can try to reroll for it, but in practice it is more common for it not to appear or for something else to show up instead.
