Choose the effect you need now

Start with the problem you want to solve, rather than a pet’s generation or Power. Construction time, Stamina, resources and march capacity are different constraints. Before spending shared materials, compare the next useful skill upgrade with any capture requirement you need to meet.

Five pets for daily activities and growth

  • Gray Wolf: provides a construction speed effect. Before starting a long upgrade, check that the skill is available and inspect the time shown in the construction window.
  • Lynx: restores Stamina immediately. Use it when you need Stamina for hunting or an event; this is different from a continuous increase in recovery speed.
  • Bison: gathers instantly on the next arrival at a wilderness resource tile. Choose the tile and resource first; do not calculate it as a permanent gathering speed increase.
  • Cheetah: helps supply Pet Food. It can address a food shortage, but does not replace missing advancement materials.
  • Lion: unearths lost items. Treat this separately from a direct combat buff, and consider whether your login schedule lets you use the skill regularly.

Nine combat pets: check what each effect applies to

  • Moose: reduces enemy squad Health.
  • Grizzly Bear: increases March Speed and reduces enemy squad Lethality. Check the two effects separately when preparing movement and combat.
  • Giant Rhino: increases your squads’ Attack.
  • Mighty Bison: increases individual Squad Capacity. A larger march is useful only if you have additional troops available to send.
  • Great Moose: increases Rally Capacity. The rally’s total limit is different from each participant’s march limit; this is a check for the rally leader.
  • Alpha Black Panther: increases troop Lethality. Do not interpret this as critical hit chance.
  • Regal White Lion: increases troop Defense.
  • Ironclad War Elephant: increases troop Health.
  • Ironclad War Bear: reduces enemy squad Defense.

Attack, Lethality, Defense and Health are distinct stats. Do not assume that enemy debuffs work identically in every combat mode: check the mode’s rules and the effects recorded in battle reports. Rally participants should not assume that their own skill bonuses are simply added to the entire rally’s stats.

Separate leveling, advancement and taming budgets

Pet Food is used for leveling. Growth Manuals, Nutrient Potions and Promotion Medallions are used for advancement. Record the materials actually required at your next target. Surplus food does not guarantee you can reach it if advancement materials are missing.

  1. Choose the next useful skill upgrade or the capture requirement for your next pet.
  2. Check the leveling and advancement requirements in the game, then subtract your inventory and guaranteed incoming materials.
  3. Set a separate limit for taming. Before repeatedly spending for a desired stat result, check whether doing so would delay an upgrade you could otherwise complete.

Examples of choosing an investment

Long construction time or insufficient resources

If you have the materials but face a long construction timer, consider Gray Wolf’s utility. If you cannot start because resources are missing, gathering with Bison and building up resource supplies address the immediate constraint more directly. Compare the cost of reaching a useful milestone instead of automatically maximizing both pets.

Your march limit or the rally’s total limit

A participant hitting their own march limit has a different problem from a leader hitting the total rally limit. Distinguish these situations before considering Mighty Bison or Great Moose. Extra capacity does not produce extra troops if you lack spare troops or participants.

A new pet and an approaching event

Prepare the growth required to capture the new pet, then compare when you need its function with when material spending earns event points. If waiting does not delay important progress, align the planned upgrades with the event. Set spending around your original upgrade goal and guaranteed rewards before considering upgrades beyond that goal for a leaderboard.

Check before activating a skill

Confirm your pet’s actual skill level, availability, duration, cooldown and effect target. Upgrade previews on detail pages are comparisons; your current pet does not receive every previewed level at once. Coordinate combat buffs with your alliance’s march schedule and prepare utility skills for the construction, gathering or hunting you will actually perform.
