Decide your budget before spinning

Before chasing roulette rewards, decide how you will use the featured hero and whether you can build that hero to your target star level. This gives your spending a clear purpose.

Choose whether to participate or save

Diamonds: separate this event’s budget from the diamonds you want to keep for the next generation.
Generation and role: decide whether the hero will replace a main hero or fill a gap in your troop type or lineup.
Target stars: count your existing shards alongside the shards you plan to obtain, and work toward a star level you will actually use.
Reward milestones: compare the displayed costs and rewards. Do not exceed your budget just to finish another milestone.

If you do not need the hero yet, or cannot fund your target, saving for a later round is a valid choice. If your main lineup is already settled, consider your need for skill books and shards before deciding how far to participate.

Obtaining shards and spending them are separate decisions

Receiving shards from roulette is different from spending them on a star upgrade. If the upgrade is not urgent, you can keep the shards until a day that awards points for consuming hero shards. If you need the star level to progress now, weigh the benefit of waiting for points against the benefit of the immediate upgrade.
