The Kitchen prepares meals for your survivors. Higher-level Kitchens (and better items) speed up meal preparation, distribution, and eating.

Overview

The Kitchen is where your survivors’ food gets made. You can choose between three meal types: Sawdust Bread, Cheese Pizza, and Deluxe Feast.

Higher-quality meals use more Bread, but they also fill survivors up more. Higher fullness means survivors are less likely to get sick or expire.

How it works

The Kitchen runs in three phases: Preparation (cooking meals using Bread), Distribution (survivors pick up meals at the Sideboard), and Eating (they eat at Dining Tables).

Each phase takes time. A higher Kitchen level (and stronger items) speeds the process up. If survivors fail to eat before their work shift ends, their fullness may not increase (or may be skipped).

If you already upgraded Survivor Houses but people still get sick or die, the most common reason is low-quality meals. Upgrade your Kitchen and switch to better meals so survivors get full faster.
